Having a Nice Balanced Diet for Great Looking Hair (65 hits)

An article I read on this webpage (http://www.locksandlinks.com/article/8) talks about how to have a well balanced diet in order to have healthy hair. It's very important otherwise your hair will be looking dull and dry.

As suggested from www.mypyramid.gov, you should eat 6 servings of fruits and vegetables a day in order to stay healthy. But it's also a matter of which fruits and vegetables you need to eat. The three best vegetables you should eat for healthy hair are: brewer's yeast, cabbage, and green peas. Three main fruits you should eat are, apples, avocados, and cranberries.

These main fruits and vegetables help nourish the hair and scalp, while adding strength and keeping hair from looking or feeling dry and dull. So you'll get healthy looking hair while improving and maintaining good health.

Try eating these with a combination of other fruits and vegetables. You can mix them with your other favorite fruits and vegetables for best results.

Hmmm... How come all the stuff you mentioned either give you gas or taste terrible. I eat healthy to control my high blood pressure but I do hate being on a no-salt diet. Since I initially went to the hospital Nov. 2008 I have eaten more fruits, vegetables, fish, chicken and turkey than ever before in my life. However I miss the salt and the junk food. At least those foods had taste. Before 11/08 I had already given up dairy, lactose intolerant. now I have given up caffeine, meat, fried foods, canned foods and most sweets. My health has improved except for the aches & pains of menopause and middle age but I really don't enjoy food the way I used to. I do into the grocery store and stare at all the foods I used to buy and eat before I go onto the salads, fruits, veggies and salmon. Thank God for bread, rolls and pasta. Those foods I really enjoy and I need them because I am very underweight for my height and age.
