I had about enough of what I have been hearing about the first lady. She has completed her education, established a career, actively involved in issues globally such as health, troops, education, homelessness, and hunger she is a mother and a wife. Not to mention very classy and a great influence for young women everywhere. With all that she has accomplished and has yet to, why are so many people focused on her features and comparing her to animals? Would they rather she sits in the white house throwing tea parties and ignoring the tragic events happening daily? I have never heard any negative comments about any other first lady. Being fashionable shouldn't be an issue as Jackie (Onasis) Kennedy is considered to be a fashion icon today. Is it intimitading for America to see a successful black woman besides Oprah? Is one enough? For me seeing the accomplishments of a black woman is inspiring and that should be contagious.
I agree that it is intimidating for America to see this BEAUTIFUL BLACK woman of POWER. Now, white America wants to judge her looks? I can remember correctly, the the previous first ladies were no beauty queens. The are the most average looking white women with some money. Even Sarah Palin was a hot mess before the Republicans "monied" her look up & tried desparately to make her look respectable. They tried to win on HER beauty- if you noticed , they lost. Another symptom of pretty dummy sundrome. Not only did the Queen of Great Britian embrace Mrs. Obama, people around the world have also. She isn't just a arm piece for a powerful man, she IS the power behind the man!! America is really revealing itself for what it really it: the have & the have nots. The have's are racked with worry that the playing field will finally be leveled & they can't compete & lose their power. Can someone say South Africa?
