What do you think of people of color being accountants? I am interested because there are not alot of people of color in accounting and it seems as if those that are in it are viewed as being less "black" (whatever that is). Is it ok for us to own our own businesses but not ok for us to understand how business work and be in a position to help grow businesses further. It seems as if it is ok for us to be "slaves" to business (starting and maintaining a business is hard work) but not masters (accountants master the art of business concepts and use them to create sound financial ways for growth and continium). One of the reasons why most of our large companies exist is based on solid relationships with accountants usually from the beginning. Shouldn't we also follow this lead? Or do we think we do it on our own?
You made a great point, not only is it color coded for Accountants but for Stock Brokers also, I was one of a few in my state. We know how money really works and the creation of wealth. thanks for the article

you're right gwendolyn i would say you guys have it worse than accountants. it seems as if any area of finance where knowlege, ingenuity and critical thinking skills abound we aren't taken serious. thank you
