Stomach Cancer, is it a death sentence? (2326 hits)
I have watched two girlfriends die from stomach cancer, both in their 30's. I watched my grandmother suffer and die from it. She was in her 60's when she died over 20 years ago. My cousin is now ill with this horrible disease. She just turned 51 in November. We had a ball at her 50's birthday party over a year ago.
All good people who lived clean lives. I just don't understand. I rushed to the hospital to see my cousin the other day. I had just visited her about two weeks ago. She lives over 2 hours away. I call to check on her in between visits. She looked totally different this week from how she looked two weeks ago. I was in shock. I almost did not recognize her. All of the family were informed to visit her because she does not have long. I have been depressed every since leaving the hospital. I just cannot get her out of my head. The picture of her setting there, suffering, knowing she does not have long to live, was just too much to bare. What is this stomach cancer all about? What causes it? Why does it attack so many young people? What can we do to stop it? Why do we not hear more about it, like breast cancer and other types of cancer? I have not met anyone who has recovered from it. Is it even possible?
Cousin Gail, I am thinking about you today. May God be with you! Love you!
I'm sorry to hear about your loss, I have lost many friends to cancer. Now you asked the question what can be done about this type of cancer? Early detection have you are any member of your family been tested before this occur. Early detection is the key and becoming informed can not only save you but many more members of your family. Lifestyle change for me was the answer of combating some of the thing that send havoc in our family genetic makeup...Get tested and spread the new of being informed about your health this can help others family members in so many ways. "Good Luck" and don't be afraid get informed information....!
