That is a catchy title isn't it? That's the kind of title that makes you want to find out more about the subject. Fair warning, we are talking about pregnancy so if you don't have the stomach for this kind of talk, please excuse yourself. Then again, i am just kidding. What i am about to get into has nothing to do with s*x or getting pregnant in that way. Get you mind out of the gutter so that we can be on the same plane. If a pregnant woman falls, the child in the womb answers. How true. That is as real and honest as its going to get. Pregnancy by itself is a beautiful thing, its Gods way of showing his creative majesty.
When new life springs forth, the miracle of life cannot be denied. It does not matter under what circumstances the pregnancy came about, the existence of the baby is a testimony to new life. In different cultures pregnancy means different things and is interpreted in different ways. Everyone knows about mothers day and we celebrate it each year to honor our mothers. I have even been asked by many people how we celebrate mothers day in Africa. When I say that there is no specific day set aside for celebrating women in Africa, I get an earful from folks.
I get the usual generalizations borne of ignorance. Because I know that they do not know what they are talking about, I do not get offended. You can only get mad at people who wilfully say something stupid when they have full knowledge of the particular subject matter. So why don't we celebrate mothers day in Africa like we do here in the United States and in other civilized countries? Firstly lets get one thing straight, we do celebrate mothers day in Africa. We do it by deed everyday, its not a day for commercial gain. Its more serious than just buying your mother or wife or mother of your children some roses and saying happy mothers day. How did mothers day come about?
You will be surprised to know that mothers day was actually founded in Egypt in 2500 BC long before someone decided that it would be about buying flowers from FTD, and making people feel guilty for not buying you flowers. Why am I talking about this? Because I am sick and tired of hearing ignorant comments like, " they do not celebrate mothers day in Africa" . When someone makes a comment like that not only does it show their ignorance, but it also displays their real character. Have you heard someone ever tell you " if you do not have anything nice to say, do not speak ". I used to think that the person who thought of that one, was just an overly sensitive person with a fragile ego. But now I see that it actually makes sense.
Sometimes you do not really need to speak, sometimes its just best to shut your mouth. Because in those situations when you speak, you actually expose yourself in a way that you cannot retract. If a pregnant woman falls, the child in the womb answers - translation - nothing can be hidden that will not be discovered. If its mothers day and you are upset because no one bought you flowers, it will show. Whether or not you want to show it you will communicate a nasty ungrateful attitude kind of vibe , by whining about how no one bought you flowers and people will run away from you, because they see the real you.
Please do not think that I am some stingy husband or son that does not appreciate my mother or honor my wife, its not about some stupid flowers. Its about the attitude I have in my heart about the person I am honoring. If I genuinely forgot that it was mothers day, and do not make stupid excuses about the fact that I forgot that it was mothers day, that is the truth. In this case its the intent in my heart that is the child in my womb, me falling with the pregnant child in my womb is the course of action I choose to take when I discover that I forgot that it was mothers day.
Either way it goes there will be a consequence, my real character is going to be exposed either in a positive or negative light depending on how I handle myself. The question is, how do I want to present myself to you? The truth is that either way, the truth will be revealed. So its up to me to make sure that whatever I do is always upright. My character is on the line here, my word is bond. I cannot have a reputation of being the one who lies to people, and breaches his contractual agreements. I do not want to be known as a scoundrel, so I have to value and nature my reputation.
By swindling people and creating a notorious reputation in the marketplace for myself, I am like a pregnant woman who is engaging in the use of drugs during her pregnancy hoping that the child will not be affected by my actions. As a grown adult everything I do has a consequence, which directly and indirectly affects others in positive ways or in adverse ways. The notion that I can do things in an unethical manner and hope that no one will find out is not a thought that I will even entertain. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Its always been that way since the beginning of time.
Ultimately the real practical application here is the need for accountability, because if you hold yourself accountable for your own actions, you will have no fear of being revealed ,since there will be nothing to reveal.
