Has the ‘buffet’ become your best friend! Confronting our Gluttony in 2009! (2196 hits)
This week on the Brother Marcus Internet Radio Show we will address part two of our series on what is commonly known as the “Seven Deadly Sins”. This weekend we want to take a look at Gluttony this Sunday at 8:00 p.m. E.S.T. Gluttony is defined as over-indulging and over-consuming food, drink or intoxicants and withholding from needy people. Most people think that Gluttony only pertains to food. Some people can't have enough toys, television, entertainment, s*x, or company. Gluttony is about an excess of anything. Questions! Do we know when, to say when, at the dinner table anymore? Do you have to have a country buffet every time you eat nowadays? Are inordinate appetites for food connected with out of control s*xual desires in any way? Why are more of our sons and daughters rivaling their parents in weight? Are we really doing enough at our jobs to burn off breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and the fourth meal (yo quiero Taco Bell)? Why have all of the Fast Food merchants developed a $.99 cent menu? Are the poor eating habits and choices of the individuals in our community at the root of their health demise? Do we even consider the “less fortunate” in today’s times or is every man for himself? Do we have enough ‘stuff’ or do we still want some more? Do we even know how to be satisfied in 2009?
