Networking? try Disconnect-ing! (2368 hits)

The above link goes to Kim's web page.

I was checking our Kim the Diamond Coach's website. I clicked on this video of business builder long time warrior George Fraser. He was speaking at the Black in America Conference from a while back--what he talked about is how disconnected the black community is.

I thought about it--hmm--someone has been e-mailing me with non related information who belongs to this club--yet never once tried to explain what they were about.

That is called the "crab-in-the -barrel " syndrome. To network means to share. To share good things. I am sure George Fraser would not have appreciated this hoarding. Begging and sharing are not the same. Begging is when you are powerless--and sharing empowers others.

Geroge Fraser is right--there is a lot of money in the black community you just don't know who they are because of this disconnect. Today I went walking (canvassing) with a sister who is running for Mayor. Blocks and blocks of beautiful homes, well kept by black folks with money. I said to her, why is there this persistent theme , allowed to be fueled by the media? I bet if they would stop perpetrating this pernicious theme of poverty, we would find that blacks are not as poor as they want to present to the public in the media.

The problem persists with plantation/slave mentality. We need help, we need government assistance, we need has become the anthem of folks running non-profits. Something is really wrong with this picture. In the blog I did on Black Intelletuals, they are guilty of keeping this unreality going.

I have heard this before. There is a lot of money in the black community. I also agree that instead of investors there is more of a consumption behavior. It shouldn't be just a black business builders club--but a black community builders club. There it goes again, instead of being inclusive the concept here is exclusive. That's not right.

All these sisters here with their home based businesses should have been informed and those that are part of the club should keep bringing in new members. This mentality and unwillingness to share is exactly why, I have to listen to Minister Farrakhan to clear my head. Exactly why.
