If you hired a Life Coach who would it be? (283 hits)
About fourteen years ago my stream of consciousness was alerted to spiritual life coaches. I wasn't really paying attention until a friend of mine who was tiring of her 9-5 job, said she wanted to become a "Life Coach." Up until then, I never considered that as an aspiration. I knew that to be successful and fulfilled we have to prioritize, organize and focus. I had read that tens of times in business books.
I thought ..to myself that's interesting. Certainly she can give a lot of good advice in the professional arena. She is a former Assistant Prosecutor from the Bronx, N.Y., a mover and shaker in Las Vegas politics, which handed her the plum job she now enjoys as a Director of a spanking new library in a well developed community. But I reserved opinion as to her spiritual readiness.
Then about a month ago, I was shopping at my favorite discount bookstore and glanced at a book titled, Jesus, CEO. I smiled. Knowingly I thought to myself of course who else could be the best CEO of all the Life CEO 's in heaven and on earth.
It actually was a Journal based on the bestseller Jesus, CEO by Laurie Beth Jones. I usually read about 7-10 books at a time. I purchased and read the book and told myself well I will blog on it. But I kept putting it off. I am pretty much a private person about my relationship with God and I felt reluctant about talking of what I had read.
I also realized most of us on this network have a spiritual base of some sort and we conduct ourselves according to Biblical truths. But the Spirit kept nudging..ever so gently. I have learned to listen to that soft nudge. I know that God orders my steps because I strive to do His will. Everything that could possibly go wrong with my computer which was fine two days ago has gone awry. I have typed this 5 times already. I send it and it locks, and right now I am binding the enemy . Send. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the journal the first action to help us get our lives in order is to FOCUS: From Jesus' standpoint would ask us, "What do you want me to do for you? and if you only had until my birthday HE might add December 25, 2009 what would you do with your time if you knew that I would call you home on that day?
My life coach woule be Marta Fernandez and the first thing I would ask Jesus would be to instantly shed the 15 pounds from my body that I have been struggling to lose. If Dec 25, 2009 was the last time I would be on earth, I would spend it with my family and friends having a good ole' fashion fish fry. Now that's some good eatin'. LoL

Taking my own advice, since I am not a Coach, I tried to answer this first question posed by Jesus ,CEO and found that my focus is not focused at all! so therefore let me get busy!!! because I am going to use the book to improve my life. Thank you Kimyon, for sharingyour experiences. As such as I research I find out things that other people rarely know. Let me just say, I have read Maya's life story and for her to go for Hillary Clinton instead of Barack Obama calls into question her political savvy. She was a wild thing in her youth, and she is a seasoned woman. Sorry but I would not hire anyone, because as I heard in the church sermon this morning,God has provided us with all we need to travel the road he has chosen for us.

I have been concentrating on just what is my focus? out of many talents, and gifts and dreams and plans and hopes. First I decided that I would focus on my mother, I don't think it would be fair to devote my life to her care at the expense of my dreams. Then my daughter and her marriage and the adorable baby that is in the middle of it..ok..she has a "husband" confused about a "husband is supposed to do" so first things first. 1. She signed a lease for an apartment and she was still here as of nov 11th! so move on..benefit ( I get to live in a clean house.) No longer will I just happen to be available at their whim for babysitting.. benefit..no worrying about baby's well being..leaving it up to God..and his parents..benefit..mind clears from all of that toxic congestion. Next step, eye doctor for my mom to see if she can regain sight in one eye, at least. Benefit, makes me and her happy!!(she turns 93 today!) get someone to watch her for at least 2 days so I can do whatever..until that whatever turns into a plan. Okay I am focusing on the immediate.

If Jesus asked me what would you want me to do for you today? I would answer " the ability to love everyone unconditionally."

And that would be the greatest request that any human could ask. Because of your humbleness, and desire to have this, God smiles !

I don't know..I try to be humble..but those of us who know this truth well, know that the greatest reward and gift is to love ...and it is NOT easy!!
