I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Sister Marie at her book signing this past summer at Mosque #25.
She autographed the book, and welcomed me as her Cuban Sister and spoke a bit about Castro and the Minister's relationship.
When I read her book , I had to smile. This phenomenal woman is a former secretary to a Congressman, has traveled and lived far and wide. She has confronted the personal issues we as women do, raised a son, hob-nobbed with the rich and famous and has remained a "dignitary" within the Nation.
Her autobiography is pickled with rich situations and persons of note. Even at the Mosque we ran into the Deputy Mayor of Jersey City,a friend of mine, and the Fashion Fair commentator Audrey Smaltz from back in the day. Very Enjoyable reading.
