THE ROLE
The Office of Community Development, within the Department of Economic and Community Development, administers capital funding grants through various state funding streams including Urban Act and the Community Investment Fund 2030 (CIF). In 2021, the Connecticut State Legislature created the CIF to foster economic development in Public Investment Communities, Alliance Districts and Distressed Communities across the state. CIF is overseen by a board of directors led by the CT Speaker of the House and the CT Senate President to recommend projects for the Governor?s approval and submission to the Bond Commission. CIF will provide up to $676 million to eligible municipalities, and not-for-profit organizations and community development corporations that operate within them. Eligible projects are capital improvements projects such as brownfield remediation, affordable housing, infrastructure, and new construction or renovation of public facilities. The Assistant Economic Community Development Agent in the Office of Community Development will work in outreach, grant application review and contracting for state funded capital grant projects.

Qualifications & Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Five (5) years of experience in corporate marketing and business development or business experience including residential and/or commercial financing to include leverage financing, strategic planning, financial planning and analysis or project management experience with industrial, environmental, housing or community development to include public financing or experience in urban planning and development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.
A Master's degree in a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
