No, I also think 3 days arent enough time to take care of making arrangements & taking care of personal issues.

No. As Valerie Patton states three days is not enough but it is what it is. I deal with HR and the only stipulation is that three days are reserved for spouses, parents, grandparents (if they raised you) only. Any more time and it goes into your vacation time you may have saved. Check your employee handbook and see what your company stipulates. What I just stated is for most companies I have worked for.
