Here's another idea: For those who are not sure how to vote on your local propositions, and just don't take the time, to read the voters guide, or can't truly understand the voting pamphlet on the pros and cons, do like a friend of mine did in the primary election. She invited young adults who were to vote for the first time to the local YMCA and library to a workshop. I assisted her in reading and explaining the different propositions to the young folks, and then we had discussion. They pre-voted in their own voters guide, and then we had pizza and punch afterwards. It was GREAT! We had 11 in attendance the first time, mostly female, but when the word spread that girls were coming, and there would be pizza afterwards, the next workshop we had 23 in attendance, most were still female, but more young men showed up. A wonderful way to introduce 18 year olds to the polical voting process. Easy to organize, and such a feeling of accomplishment on everyone's part. Also, if some young voters show up who are not registered yet, get a few voters registration copies from the post office, so they can register right there at the workshop. ORGANIZE, share your experience and knowlege, it's power!
