Name one so we can all know about. Not looking for dialogue and what we don't have. Just list the organization and hopefully a link.

By self sustaning, means to imply: supported by funds direct from community, corporation, individuals of African diaspora - not hispanic, jewish, or faith based.

If you don't know one, use the links provided by others to learn and support one.

The photo is that of recommended reading. I found it very interesting. The discussion may appear as a podcast on http://www.DryerBuzz.com

PS: Watcing the hit/reply ratio.

Cool...In her first year, AKOMA was featured at numerous local programs and concerts. On June 22, 1996, AKOMA made her debut concert and established the Nona Patterson Chambers Scholarship in honor of her elder member and adopted choir mother. Across her thirteen year herstory, sixty-three young Christian women have received more than $38K to attend college.

How come the nabj has not created its own media entity? Hmmm... "New media companies Yahoo and Google will be two of UNITY 2008’s major sponsors." Don't think these were founded by NABJ members.

If major sponsorship like Yahoo or Google can't be achieved through its own membership, this how good is the association? Beyond sponsorship, could a member launch a product like a google/yahoo and have the same success in support? We'll see how Rushmore Drive survives. Will it go the same route as "black media?"

Yalanda,

I take it from your question that you mean descendent of slavery African-American. Or are you asking about West Indian Blacks, Latin Blacks, Native African Blacks, and/or Blacks from a third country like British-African-American?

If your question relates to all blacks I would say there are far too many to list:
