Dead or Alive

All the signs were there, the
mental and physical abuse.

And then the I love you, the
sign says Dead or Alive.

There are choices to be
made, two to be exact which
one will she chose.

But she loves him and at
times he treats her good.

Even after the black eyes
he makes love to me.

He will change, he is just
going through things, it’s
just a busted lip.

These are the things she
tells herself and others.
The sign says Dead or Alive.

Now here I lay, I made my
choice, Dead is what I chose.

For when I was Alive I lived
in misery.

Now the sign “Dead or Alive”
doesn’t apply to me.

It applies to the one that I loved,
the man who killed me.
