With commencement on May 8, Bethune-Cookman University has announced the first graduate of ‘B-CU Global,’ marking a key milestone for the institution’s online learning platform, which is designed to expand degree completion opportunities for working adults, military service members and veterans, as well as re-admits.

Henry Lee Parker, Jr., a resident of Hillsborough County, Florida, is the first student to complete a degree through the program. He’s earning a bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies through flexible online coursework designed for individuals balancing professional and personal responsibilities.

“Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune built this university on the principle that education is the gateway to opportunity and service,” said Dr. Albert Mosley, President of Bethune-Cookman University. “Celebrating our first ‘B-CU Global’ graduate is a powerful reminder that her vision continues to evolve – reaching students in new ways and ensuring that working adults, military members and veterans have a clear path to finish what they started.”

‘B-CU Global’ enrolled its first students during the Spring 2026 semester and provides accredited bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in a fully online format, with options for evening, weekend and self-paced learning. The program is designed to serve working adults, active-duty and retired military personnel, and re-admitted students seeking to complete their degrees.

Students can pursue undergraduate degrees in psychology, criminal justice, business administration, interdisciplinary studies, and national security and global affairs. Graduate offerings include nursing, Christian ministry, business administration, organizational leadership, exceptional student education and integrative environmental science.
