:Prayer Of Thankfulness:Two

Theoretically, We Recognize The Truth Symbolized

By The Sand In The Oyster:

It Is The Minute Grain Of Sand Within The Shell,

Unwelcome And Irritating, Which Produces In The

Course Of Time The Lustrous, Perfect Pearl.

So In Our Live, As We Look Back Over The Years,

We Can See The Precious Values That Have Come

Out Of The Very Trials And Tribulations Through

Which We So Reluctantly Passed - The Illnesses, The

Disappointments, The Economic Crises, The Family

Estrangements, The Failures, The Disloyalty Of A

Trusted Friend - All The Long List Of Woes.

But It Is One Thing To Look Back On Past Trials, And

Recognize Thankfully Blessings That Have Come As

A Result Of Them, But It Is Quite A Different Thing

To Thank God In The Midst Of Them.

And Yet, Should We Not In Fact, Be Thankful For Those

Tragic Experiences Which Teach Us What Is Needful For

The Salvation Of Our Souls?

For Those Which Accepted As From God's Hand, Develop

In Us Those Christlike Qualities, For The Growth Of

Which All Life Seems To Be Designed?

For Those Which Force On Us The Recognition Of Our

Complete Dependence On God's Love And Awaken In

Us The Realization Of His Complete Sufficiency To

Meet Every Need?

What Amazing New Depths Of Joyous Living Are

Available To Us When We Achieve This Much - To - Be -

Desired Ability "To Give Thanks To God Always For All

Things" - To Accept Life In Its Totality From God's Hands,

And To Thank Him For Life - Its Joys, Its Sorrows, Its

Triumphs, Its Failures, Its Evil And Its Good - To Praise

God In The Midst Of It, As The Continuing Creator And

Sustainer Of Our Very Being! (Ephesians 5:18-20)
