The Best place to start...the Beginning (Dating BLOG)

Everyone has that one friend who meets a person on a Thursday, they give you all of the details about the experience and by the following Thursday, they’re in full blown love or at least in very strong like!

“But he said all the right things; he brought me flowers and opened my door. ‘Oh, you’re a writer? That’s so interesting, I’m a writer too.’ See I told you, we have so many things in common! He’s so freaking perfect for me, he has to be the one!”

Then next Thursday comes and your friend is calling your phone. You’re chatting and you ask about Mr. You Know Who. You’re waiting to hear that there’s now a wedding date and they have a baby on the way. Silence fills the phone lines followed by a deep sigh. Here it comes, wait for it, wait for it. “Ughh, I don’t talk to him anymore.” What the hell?! But he was supposed to be the one. Your love was so strong; it blossomed to full bloom in one week lol.

Well ladies and gentleman, it’s very nice to informally meet you. I am that friend lol.

So now that I have admitted this, and you know the “why,” let me fill you in on how this blog was born. Like most people who need a little extra help and aren’t afraid to confess it, I have a life coach who assists me in finding clarity in my sometimes cloudy mind. Us creative folk have a tendency to be all over the place at one time. #FlowerChild : ) Don’t judge me lol.

One day on a coaching call, I spoke with her about what I was going through with my family and I had some business questions I needed advisement on. But what I really wanted to talk about was a freshly severed relationship. After I was done pouring my little bleeding heart out, she said what she always says near the end of our calls, “Well let me give you a challenge.” Alright I’m used to this. Let’s do it, I’m ready.

“You have to go on 30 dates before the end of the year with at least 15 different people.” Ummm say what sista? Let me ask her if she recalls who she’s talking to. I don’t date. I prefer to relate and evacuate.

She went on to explain that this was not about finding Mr. Right. This is about me practicing on being a girl and just having fun! Hmmm, you know what? I can do this and be excited about it. Being treated for once and not worrying about rushing into a serious relationship before my ovaries give out and have to walk with a cane! It’s all about having fun, getting to know people and most essentially getting to know the girl within me and being comfortable with it all. I can do this!

So I’m feeling brave, I’m feeling brand new and then she hits me with a much unexpected question, “But are you bold enough to BLOG about it?” Pump your brakes Ms. Life Coach! Say who? Say what? I’m no punk but idk about that. Ahh man, ok ok I cannot turn down a challenge (another weakness of mine besides beautifully built perfectly equipped men, lol).

So here we are ~ 30 dates in less than 90 days with at least 15 different people! All of you get to hear all about it, see some interesting photos (hopefully), read guest bloggers and give your input. SMDH, I have no idea how this is going to turn out but I can say that I’m totally stoked about going from the clueless dater hater to the dating extraordinaire by 2014!

Until next time my little sweet butter cookies,

AlmostDating007

AlmostDating007 is just a regular girl in a super world. So far her dating experiences have not been the best but she is determined to change that. Fresh out of an 8 year relationship she is totally clueless on how to date in 2013. Challenged by her life coach, she accepted the chance to put her self on the market and experience all that she can in the dating world. Bravely, she is welcoming the online world to watch and listen while she embarks on an adventure she’s never experienced before. 30 dates with 15 different guys by the end of 2013! If anyone can do it, she can but what will she learn and experience in the meantime? Follow the blog and see http://thelifeandtimesofaprematuredater.wo...
