what "men" think about hair... Interesting...

@Cynthia, it was very interesting and eye opening. we ain't billions in this interesting for nothing. might as well know what men actually think of our hair.

Yalanda I hear ya ... I'll check out your video on you tube... I believe the man's point is intresting and certainly eye opening... But from my experience having men hair stylists...
They normally do what they want to do with regards to styling hair... and it's never ever what I want...

oh that sounds like a good topic. Will Williams who was on the podcast would love to debate/discuss. lol. might also bring in some men again to discuss

I appreciate hearing from the guys on the panel about the things they like. However, I think the guy who summed up the 3 types or catagories did a nice job and he's right that women reserve the right to do what they want to make themselves feel good. Men should respect that.

My husband started shaving off his hair a few years back when he started getting grey hairs and he will not for the life of me stop doing that even though I tell him that I like his hair to grow. Personally, I stop going to the salons long before the WallStreet mess because i got tired of staying in the Salons all DAY! Now since I read that the relaxers are linked to fibroids in Black women, I've stopped that.

I cut my hair and I'm experimenting with what I remember as a youngster that worked when my mom did my hair. It was really healthy and grew. You would think that my husband would have noticed that I cut (even though it wasn't that much) my hair!! Well he didn't!! Ain't that a trip!! ((Seriously))

I had a male stylist and he didn't listen to me either about how I wanted my hair styled. He styled it the way he liked until one day, I insisted that he do my hair the way I asked since I was The Paying Customer & That was the end of that! ((LoL))

yeah Jen... I had to leave my stylists and he was fierce! Sista(male) could do some hair and he had a long clientel... He just refused to listen... my last color I had he did... I went from looking like Sherrie Osborne to Annie... She ain't got time for that!

I understand; I didn't leave Bernard but relocated after getting married to NJ from SC. When I was getting married, I asked for an updo with the ringlets and He didn't do anything with gels, spritz, or mouses so he sent me to a lady who used to work a booth in his shop. I think after going to her, she took so long that I missed my wedding picture appt and that was the final straw with going to Salons that didn't keep to time.

The great thing about Bernard is that he didn't over book and he always kept to time with his appts. His shop was never crowded and as one person was leaving another appt was coming in. I miss him dearly and in fact he was the one who awakened me to the idea that why should I have to wait all day in a salon. It's really selfishness on the part of the shop owners.

Anywho... I think we should do our hair to make ourselves happy. There might be room for compromise but in the end its should be about our own satisfaction. We can't go on changing our hair to please every guy we might end up dating and hopefully that's not a lot!!!

I'd like to go to salons myself but time management is an issues. I'm exploring options for spring and summer. will try to stay with the barber shop as much as i can, but i miss my curls just enough to consider growing them back. yet again time is of the essence.

After listening to the guys, i definitely fell into the Recessionista category lol
