Not to be confused w/ Jamaican English nor with the Rastafarian uses of English. Developed in 17th century, by slaves from West & Central Africa exposed to, learned, & nativized the vernacular and dialectal forms of English spoken by their masters. I tried to do a Google translate for patwa but ended up going tothe urban dictionary to translate some words.
