Building Tolerance From Tolerance:

Tolerance Is A Cornerstone In The

Construction Of A Fulfilling And

Peaceful Life.

It Offers Us The Opportunity To

Strengthen Rather Than Destroy,

Improve Rather Than Destroy,

Improve Rather Than Diminish,

And Create Rather Than Demolish.

It Is The Mortar That Holds The

Structure Of Our Relationships

Together And Strengthens The

Bonds Of Friendship.

It Is An Essential Building Block

Of True Happiness.

An Act Of Tolerance Is A Seed Sown

That Will Grow Similar Acts.

In Like Manner, An Act Of Intolerance

Will Reap A Harvest Intolerance.

Our Attempts To Understand Someone

Will Be A Of Strong, Even Empowering

Invitation To That Person To Understand

And Accept Us, To Open Dialogue And

Relationship, And To Open Both To New

Options.

Tolerance Is The Beginning Of Understanding

The One We Don't Understand, The First Step

In Reconciliation, The Triumph Of Common

Ground Over Hostile Differences.

Tolerance, On The Other Hand, Builds Bridges

Between Us And Makes Us Teachers Of One

Another.

It Saves Us From The Distractions Into Which

Intolerance Invariably Leads Us.

It Sets Our Spirits Free To Pursue A Purpose

Beyond Our Own Insecurities And Fears.

The Intentional Effort To Understand And Affirm

Those Who Don't Accept Or Agree With Us Will

Result In Some Of The Most Rewarding Relationships

Of Our Life.

Think About Someone You Dislike, Or Simply Can't

Understand, Because Of Or Are In Conflict With

Because Of Some Strong Differences.

Ask God For Wisdom In Building A Bridge To That

Person. Then Follow Through.
