What was your experience of moving to a new area and seeking employment?
Reminding myself to encourage myself!
I just moved from my hometown to a new area. It's good to have 1 family member in the area, but apparently, he definitely doesn't have much time outside of his job and relationship(s)...lol.
I don't believe I considered how challenging it would be in finding "gainful" employment. Some days I'm encouraged and more of these days, I'm an emotional roller coaster. The only time I've not worked, is when I attended school full-time so this is an extremely challenging journey for me.
Anyone have any testimonies, advice....leads..etc?

Hello Felicia,
I have a testimony but I’m going to make it short. Your story sounds a little like mines. I moved here about five years ago when my husband’s job transferred us. I worked for the automotive industry while in Detroit but my field is design and I just couldn’t find auto design here. I did some freelance design in the meantime but two years in, I landed a design position in the oil/gas industry. My skill-set was somewhat similar just different industries.
I have no family here and I thought about that before moving. I had the home that the ‘family’ came to all the time, to have baby showers, parties, etc. So not having my loved ones near was tough at first but I knew to make that move was an asset for me because at least one income was there and better schools for my children. I now also know about business ownership and won’t change the path that I have travelled for anything.
Stay encouraged! You’re doing the best thing by sharing your story and letting people know you’re looking. What do you do? Put it out there for people to see. Dallas/Fort Worth area isn’t hit as badly as other areas, so your next employer or someone who can get you to them may be reading this. People have landed employment because of social media like Facebook and others.
You have a beautiful profile pic!
Blessings to you,
Susan
