Black Female in College: fighting against all odds
Once i entered college like any other young woman i was excited to get away from home and expiernce the college life, one thing i didnt expect was to go through all the hard things this new life had waiting for me. Being on my own now was a true test of the woman i was growing to be and the woman my mother raised alone. dealing with the struggle of being broke is something aa a college student i have gotten use to but at times i wish things were diffrent, looking for a job is hard when noone is trying to hire new people and not having any means of transportation make sit that much harder to find a payroll job. so trying to up keep myself without steady money becomes harder and harder as the school year progresses. Plus with the falland winter months coming faster than before and not having any money to buy winter clothes and shoes money becomes a want to a need. the everyday stress of trying to figure out how i will make it to the next week with out the things i need are a test of faith in God to provide a way and a strong will to still get up and go to class even though when it rains and is cold outsdie i still have to wear my flip flops to class, and wilth a cold coming back every other day still fight through beliving that something will come through for me. I want better and with everything fighting agisnt me and telling me to drop out i kepp going hopi and praying it will pay off.
Hey I hear you. I worked my way thru university on work study in the beginning and later as a nurse's aid in the hospital. Perhaps you could try your luck there. Sending peace and love your way.
