Without Faith, Faith In A Book Of Directions,

Faith In Oneself, Faith In Another's Word,

Written Or Spoken, Faith In " The Soul's

Invincible Surmise," Nothing, Not Even

The Simplest Things, Would Be Done.

From The Child Who Takes His First Step

To The Scientist Who Spends Years In

His Laboratory Testing And Proving The

Hypothesis He Has Set Up, All Creation Is

Based On Faith... "O Ye Of Little Faith!"

Jesus So Often Cried Despairingly To His

Disciples.

It Was Not Their Intellectual Beliefs That

He Was Concerned About, But There

Paralyzing Failure To Apprehend The Truth

That Walked Beside Them.

As They Learned To Use And Trust And

Act Upon Their Little Faith, It Grows Stronger.

-Elizabeth Gray Vining It Is When We Actually

Do This, When We Trust And Act Upon " Our

Little Faith" Day After Day, That The World

Answers Back To Our Faith.

We Find That We Are No Longer Standing

Upon A "Seeming Void" But Upon A Solid

Rock.

The World Answers Back To Our Faith...

It Says To The Farmer,"Sow Your Seed";

To The Aviator,"Spread Your Wings";

To The Miner,"Sink Your Shaft";.

To The Sailor,"Hoist Your Sail";

To The Engineer,"Swing Your Bridge";

To The Scientist,"Trust Your Hypothesis";

To The Financier,"Mark Your Investment";

To The Explorer,"Follow The Gleam."

Faith Is Man's Highest Venture.

The Port Whittier Puts It Thus:

" The Steps Of Faith Fall On The

Seeming Void And Find The Rock

Beneath.

" It Is The" Seeming Void" On Which

We Set Our Faith; Beneath Us,

However, Is The Unseen Reality,

And Faith Gives It Substance.

-Hugh Thompson

Kerr We Cannot Form A True

Conception Of Life When The Tide

Is Out, Any More Than We Can Obtain

A True Picture Of The Shore Under The

Same Conditions.

When All Things Seems At Low Ebb, We

Must Not Give In To Despondency, But

Must Wait - Hopefully, Prayerfully, Confidently

- For The Turn Of The Tide.- -
