Mental Vacation: Tropical Paradise

Mental Vacations have several advantages over true vacations.

No expense

No packing needed

No planes, trains, or buses to catch

No restriction on where you can go.

They say its Five O'clock somewhere what is going on in the place you want to be?

Your Imagination is your limit. Utilize your senses to create the vacation of your dreams. If you have a hard time thinking of it as a vacation try thinking of this exercise as focused daydreaming. All of your senses are going to take you on this vacation, all of your senses are going to make this vacation real to you. This vacation can be as in depth as you would like it to be.

Step one: Lets choose where you want to go. Close your eyes and picture yourself where you want to go. If you cannot see yourself there, try utilizing the internet or book stores to view pictures of the place that you can see yourself being. Gain a better understanding of the culture and what you can expect yourself to see when you get to this dream place.

Hear: Listen to all that is around you. Will you hear local people in the market place selling goods and wares? Will you hear stillness as you are off in a desolate forest surrounded by mother nature? What sounds do you want to hear?

See: What brilliant colors dot the landscape? What is everyone wearing around you? What have you packed for your vacation? What bright fruits do you see? What signs are beckoning you?

Taste: Is the food sweet? Spicy-hot? The drink cold and fruity on your tongue? Can you taste the yeasty sweetness of the pastry? Does the chocolate melt smoothly in your mouth, sending a sublime sensation of happiness and satisfaction to your mind?

Touch: Do you feel smooth fabric? The hardness of concrete or a crunching dirt path under your feet as you walk around? The warm, firm pressure of someone's handshake? The coolness of silverware against your hand?

Smell: Do you catch the enticing aroma of exotic food cooking? The faint scent of trees or flowers? Incense? Perfume?
