God is not in Church

Hoda Sulub · Monday, September 27th 2010 at 12:44AM · 768 views
Nor is God in a Mosque, Temple, or any other place of worship. So why do folks act like they're holly or better then others just because they attend church?
I mean don't get me wrong, I'm not against going there, but if you're looking for God in a building, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO FIND THAT!

So bottom line, you're no way better then anyone church goers. God is everywhere, but most importantly...IN YOUR HEART. And you can pray to Him anywhere.

Any place used for worship I believe should be to invite people to encourage them and to inspire them. Not for sister Betty down the isle looking all geared up, to look down on folks for not attending regularly.

Jesus is the only way to the Father. God can not dwell in an unclean temple. So yes the building is where the church, known as the body of Christ, go to worship

@ Sister Cheryl
According to Christian theology, Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Light of God YWHW; Buddists, Silks, Wiccans, Eastern Mystics, Rastafarians, etc would not know or adhere to Christian ideology. Having said that, I'd say that I would agree with Sister Hoda that just because we might be devoutly religious, going to our places of worship every week doesn't give us the right to look down on someone else.

God is in our heart and we can pray to Him without even having stepped for into the 4 walls of a building. Besides with the increasing scandals riveting the Christian church, it probably isn't going to encourage many people who aren't Christians to now come into the fold. I say that if it weren't for the commandment in Hebrew 10:25 ( not to forsake the assembling together) I wouldn't step foot in a church. It's just too much nonsense going on especially with the Mega preachers and their properity gospel that seems to make them rich and leave the parishners broke, busted, and disgusted.

People better wise up and read the Holy Word for themselves.

oppsI meant prosperity not properity...

Ladies, thank you for your input. And Jen I agree with you on the whole thing with preachers getting rich, leaving the ordinary folks broke. It's really sad that it church is glamorized that way.
I, for one, don't think God lives in a building, therefore I don't waste my time going there.

You and many others feel that church is a waste of time. Hey are you Muslim or Christian, if you are Christian there are many churches since the economic challenges are using the internet. I've posted many links in the past so you can still hear some good stuff without all the nonsense that goes with it. If minister starts talking nonsense, I'll go fix a sandwich or go do something else much more worth my time!

Jen, you're funny with the fixing sandwiches ordeal...lol but I like it. And to answer your question, I'm a Muslim but I don't go to the Mosque either. I just don't find it necessary.

Ha! My sandwiches are very tasty. No worries regarding going to buildings~ Allah is in our hearts. Looking forward to more blogs from you!
