Having peace of mind is so important in our daily walk of life. The world around us is so fast paced and constantly moving in various directions, that we tend to not slow down or take a break too often. We have become so mentally conditioned to keep moving at a fast pace, even though our bodies tell us to stop. As humans, we need to gather a sense of wholeness and allow our bodies and minds to take a much needed break.

If we don't, what ends up happening is that we get over-whelmed and it impacts our mental and physical abilities. When this happens, we lose focus on what's really important and begin to get frustrated and irritated with those around us, especially our loved ones. How can we get a renewed sense of daily energy? What can we do to take a refreshing break each day?

It's important to reflect on the things that give us a sense of tranquility in our life. No matter where you are or what you are doing, you CAN take 5 minutes for you every day. What most people don't realize is that a lot can be accomplished in this short period of time if you are committed to improving your life. During those 5 minutes, you would sit at your desk, on the sofa, or wherever you are comfortable and start off by taking several deep breaths.

As you breathe in, say to yourself, "I am at peace, I am calm, and I appreciate me." I know this may not sound like it can have a great impact on an individual, but try it! I have had quite a few people tell me that taking just 5 minutes to reflect and tell themselves how much they appreciate what they have done, works wonders for their morale, mood and gives them a sense of peace.

Remember this; make it a priority to take 5 for you! Your loved ones, friends and co-workers will appreciate the positive impact it has on your communications with them. But most of all, you will be a happier, healthier and more relaxed individual!
