First Love thyself!!
I get it by now the plight of black women is very real in a racist world. But how can we as black women expect to be "loved" when self love is missing I look at my surroundings and see young black women NOT carrying themselves like upstanding women and carrying themselves more like video-hoes (parton my French). Some are treating their bodies like theme parks, while others have more kids than one can count on fingers and toes. I am sure that we as black women can do better. It is all of our responsibility to educate and uplift one another as black women. (I cannot speak on the brothers because I am NOT a man, so I can only speak from a female point of view.) There are so many young black women that want and need gudiace and help and just aren't getting it. I meet these kind of young women everyday and think where did we as black women go wrong in helping our fellow sisters? And how can we get back to the basics of each one teach one. The lack of knowledge is the quickest pathway to DEATH! I pray for a future in which black women understand their value and know their worth. Not just "some of us, bu all of us" Like they are worth having a husband, an education, a career, etc. And also I pray that the younger generation coming up get a vaules system and quick because if NOT the DEATH of "black women" in society will be a slow and painful one writh with ignorance, self-pity, self-hatred, muliple children by multiple irresponsile men, etc. I pray this daily. Change must come are we will perish.
I appreciate this blog, because it is one that is so needed. Hopefully the situation will get better for us. Its a sad state of affairs amongst us when we can't give and receive a compliment. I was at work last night and I was commenting to another sister regards how 'buff' her guy has become in the past year since I last saw him. She spoke in an unfriendly tone stating yeah it's because he works out. I also noticed that when I try to ask of her family I can ask of the kids, but when it comes to her man --- she changes her demeanor. I'm a happily married woman myself with children so to ask how one's family is doing is a good thing and means if the family is well then the person should be well. It may not necessarily be the case, but generally it is for most people.
