Divas On Vacation-BABYSteps for Life Challenge-March 1-5 - Clean Out Your Temple
This month, we are going to do some spring-cleaning. During each week in the month of March, we will clean out areas of our life. This week, we kick off the first month of March by cleaning out the physical - getting rid of the junk from our bodies.
This week's BABYSteps for Life Challenge is to - Clean The Temple. The Bible refers to our bodies as a temple. In the spirit of spring-cleaning, before we clean our homes, let us start with our temples. Now, it's difficult to say what to put in your body and what to avoid. Every day, Drs. seem to change what is good for you and what hurts you. However, there are those things that you should rarely partake of if you have a goal of healthy, balanced eating.
This week, make some changes cleaning out your temple by avoiding fried foods, heavy sugars and sweets, staying away from fast food restaurants and generally overeating. Notice that we say, "make some changes towards", not totally give it up. Everything takes times. No one item is bad for you in moderation. If you have the courage and the willpower to go "cold turkey" with these items: GO FOR IT! You will be happier because of it. Not all of us are that strong, so we'll be working slowly towards this goal. Maybe -- eating fast food one time a week instead of 3 times or instead of keeping sodas in the house, we'll drink it only when dining out, we'll change our plate sizes to help manage our portion sizes, we'll stay away from white bread at least 4 times a week, we’ll switch to sugarless candy and will be all the better for it! Everything in moderation...everything takes time.
