Is White America's Enemies the same Enemies of Black Americans ?

Black Africans were brought to America to serve the ruling whites as slaves. Later a second class citizen and a notch above livestock, black Americans became property of white slavemasters. Over 400 years later, Black Americans have been set free
and free to think for ourselves. In the interim, the American establishment engages in empirialism to dominate her views and will upon other nations. She uses the pursuasion of financial aid and military support to convince other nations to align themselves with American ideology and viewpoint.

Imperialism is considered the control by one state of other territories. Through political or more often military means (direct imperialism), the imperial power may take over the government of a particular territory, or through economic processes (indirect imperialism), in which the concerned region is officially self-governing but linked to the imperial power by (often unequal) trade relations. America has created enemies because some nations believe that America is butting in their business and they want America to leave them alone and mind their own business.

This leaves thinking blacks in America with the quagmire of having to decide which enemies are theirs or belonging to their former slavemaster. Of course, white Americans are counting on black people inability to think for themselves. Thus, leaving whites once again, to think for them.

As a Black American male, America's enemies are not necessarily my enemies. If I want to take a vacation to Syria or Venezuala to enjoy the country, then I don't have the fear of being murdered because being an American. More and more countries are getting upset with America and they recognize that Black Americans are stuck and we do not write policy of the American regime.

Both America military and Al Qaeda are guilty of killing innocent people in the crossfire of thier targets. No one can claim that they only kill their targets. In fact, In Irag Along, America has killed more innocent women, children and men unattached to the war. I love adventure and visiting foreign countries and is reluctant to stay at home merely because of white America's empirilism views. What do you think ?

good posts but if you wanna talk about black people's enemies lets start with lack of taking responsibilities for they things we do. How long are we gonna continue to have this 'us verses them' mentality, what they white man did or didnt do to us centuries ago. Most people writing these posts have never really know whats its like to be a slave, not unless ur about 70 and older so lets just cute the crap.

lets talk about why our kids are dropping out of school, why its so tabu within the black community to be too dark, and whats up with the music 'we' are pumping out.

Seems to me the enemy of black people are within the walls we call our own communities. Yes, in the beginning white man planted the seed, thanks to willie lynch and his foolishness but he cannot take the credit for the crop that has grown within our race from the seeds he so foolishly but sadly to say very profitably planted.

Jamal good post, and Cassandra even a better response. Cassandra, I like the sentence "seems to e the enemy of black people are within the walls we call our own communities". Isn't that the gospel truth? I was never a slave and will never be a slave but yes I feel the pain of my fore, foreparents, just to tell you how long ago that was, so I don't have to carry it with me every day of my life. And as for white folks they don't control any part of my destiny, I do. I chose the life I want to live and I know I don't have to be a part of that 'us vs them' community. Jamal we see America through different eyes and rightly so. I love my country, it has made me who I am; a proud, beautiful black woman and I would not trade it for any other in the world. I don't live among enemies; I live among friends. And when you live where I live, you don't need to go anywhere for vacation. Thanks for the input though!

Cassandra Carter Wednesday, January 6th 2010 at 4:09PM

Thanks Jewell. I realize that racism and all that is still very much alive and I am so tired of read posts and listening to conversations that consistantly expose the problem but never reveals a solution. How do we resolve these issues in our own community? How do we build up our communities so that no one is on welfare, so that our kids are educated in a safe learning environment, so that the mentors that are kids look up too are NOT lil wayne and his fifty million kids and a host of baby mamas and still aint married or diddy who suffers from his own self hatred of being dark skinned? The list, just like the beat goes on and on (for you ol skool katz), lol.

Real talk when will the madness end and the road to recovery begin????!!!!!!

Willie Lynch played his part now what part do you play?! Things that make you go HMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!

I tend to agree with President Obama saying there is only one America with that being the United States of America. We all have enemies and just because someone I know has a specific enemy, that doesn't make their my enemy. We have freedom of choice where we can all be who we want to be at least that's what I believe and have experienced.

Cassandra Carter Friday, January 8th 2010 at 2:49PM

I agree with you Jen. We wrestle not against flesh and blood so our enemy is not a person but an ungodly spirit. The problem is we never correctly identify 'the enemy' so how can you fight something you cannot identify, its a sure way to defeat. We as a race of people have to rid ourselves of the enemy within ourselves and by ourselves I mean within our own race/communities. We have self-hatred of ourselves, we degrade our ownselves, we kill ourselves but we always seem to blame everyone else. We need REAL leaders that will point that out, drive it home to our people so we can begin to do better because I believe we can do better. We come from Kings and Queens so I know we can do much better than what we are doing but it has to be a collective effort or it won't work.

Good point! Cassandra I believe it starts in the home. Our children have to look in the mirror and love that person they see. Everything in that mirror may not please you but as parents we need to point out the beautiful things in that mirror. The enemy is within us, we are born with that and it's up to the people close to us to help us rid ourselves of that evil being. I learn my lesson from Michael Jackson. Although he sang the song 'man in the mirror', I really don't think he believed it and was happy with that man. He saw so many faults in that man in the mirror but he never saw the beauty in the man. His voice surpassed all others, his dancing was beyond any imagination yet still he chose to see 'the black color and big nose' of the man in the mirror instead of his brilliant voice and untouchable movements. This is our problem our children are having. P. Diddy, Tiger, and a host of others they don't like the man in the mirror despite their financial success. So as parents, black Americans we don't focus on those who cannot love themselves, they are like lost sheep we just have to pray for them. But the others we can make changes, we have to show them love and let them know we care. I try to do that in my community every day. We have to stop being negative and find the positive in everyone. There is a positive to everything we just have to find it.

Cassandra, Hello

Do appreciate your comment and concerns. Certainly you raise important issues affecting our race in their communities. Sometimes you cannot see the forest for the trees. Its just that living a naive life can never lead to victory. If the rabbit thinks not about the fox...it gets eaten up. Say the Zebra cares less about the Lion...it too gets eaten up....or say the wasp cares less about the spider...it gets snarled into the trap and gets devoured. Just the way nature has it...in the scheme of God's world....survival of the fittest. Every living species have enemies and words or language can do nothing about it....This predator and prey relationships is provides reason why species develop defense mechanisms to ward off their attackers.

In the case of Human Beings, American Indians were naive to the smiling Europeans that came from abroad. They felt secure and concentrated on challenges facing Indian life. Next they knew, Whites were taking over....and now they live on worthless reservations. So much for if you are not aware of your enemies. Much can be learned in history, which is why history is required reading in American public schools. Now they would have me believe that the Cubans, Venezualans, Iragis, Iranians, Koreans, Libyans, Palistinians, Syrians and others are my enemies....but they have never done nothing to me. Who has done something to me is like you say,,,,,some of the thugs, rouges and houdlums in our own neighborhoods as well as some smiling Europeans.

Jamal, "they have never done nothing to me". Have you lost your @#@# mind? Does 9/11 mean anything to you? I lost friends, brothers, sisters to these idiotic people, and you make that statement? How many children born to slain 9/11 victims did not have a mom or dad to hug them this past Christmas? The thugs, the rougues and the houdlums are angels to these criminals! Sorry if I offend your people!!

Jamal, I just read this on Newser.com:

"Defne Bayrak says she was shocked when she heard that her husband, Khalil Abu-Mulal al-Balawi, was the suspected bomber in the attack on the CIA, but thought it a fine death. “I am proud of my husband,” Bayrak, a Turkish author and translator, told CNN. “My husband accomplished a very big operation in such a war. If he is a martyr, may God accept his martyrdom.”

Seven Americans CIA lost their lives and she is proud of his doings. Are you?

Jewell, Hello

The purpose of the blog was for thinking people to think. Now the first law of existence is self preservation. OK who is self. For me...I am an original black man. Ok I have defined who I am. You must be able to properly define who you are.
Every human being must be able to define who THEY are. I nor my ancestors asked to come over here to America. But was kidnapped from our homeland and brought over here in chains. THEN, we were made Americans. But still...I am an original Black man. Have never went to the army.. In fact, till this day, have never purchased a gun. Don't believe in guns. Refuse to fight for whites people that have done nothing to me. It is my right. The only way I will fight, if someone attacks black Americans. So far, Iranians, Iraqis, Palistanians, Cubans, Venezulans, Syrians, Koreans, Chinese, Jordanians and the Turks have never sought out to attack black Americans. They KNOW where we live. We live in Detroit on the East and West Side...We live in Watts in LA are....We live in Wilkinsburg in the Pittsburgh Area.....We live in Chicago on the Southside....We live in East St. Louis. The people you speak of 9/11 attacked downtown New York....They were after the big wigs, the shakers....that move the money around. They wanted to shake up Wall Street and they did !....If they were after black Americans.....They would have attacked Harlam.....But they didn't. False accusations against people is a sin....It is a sin in the Bible.....It is a sin in the Holy Quran.....and it is a sin in the Torah. To accuse the all Middle Easterners or any people for what they have not done to you is a sin. It is knowing your enemy that counts but first you must know yourself. After traveling to Africa, it impressed and inspired me a great deal so written a book called 21st Century Vision for Black America
www.trafford.com/06-2972
which describes my people struggle and plan for a government of our own so I really don't get involved in this so-called war on Terrorism ...it is not my war.

Sister Cassandra,
I so agree with you on this point, because many African Americans are their OWN worst enemies and the enemies of other African Americans. I have to applaud you on your wisdom and insight on hitting the nail on the head at identifying the REAL problem(s) in the African American community---We Are The Problem---- Before intergration, African American were more unified as a member of another site pointed out in one of the blogs he did there. Although I think we shouldn't go back to segregation, I do believe there is much we can learn from our people during that time period that can help us presently.

Cassandra Carter Sunday, January 10th 2010 at 8:42AM

Thanks Jen, I appreciate those words. We as a people do not talk about what our problems are and that is why they keep getting bigger because we do not talk about them. Its so easy to expose the racism in white ppl, asians, and other 'non' black people but what about the biasness within our own race. We seem to be so angry all other groups of ppl and not enuff at ourselves. Why do we as a people call each other ***** as a 'term of endearment', put it in our music yet when a white person says the word *****, there is a problem. Thats when u see Al Sharpton and ppl like him come out of the wood work. But where are they when ppl like lil wayne have lil girls on stage talkin about how he wants to have s*x will all the women all over the world, where are they to speak out against how wrong Kanye was for ruining that ladies time in the spotlight and what about all these 'reality' shows that aint no more real than the breasts some of these women walk around with. Come on people something has got to give. Our kids are watching this and they think its normal to be like that and thats nonsense. Our people are in a state of disarray and altho white people may have started it in slavery, WE continue to carry it forward affecting generations of our kids and it got to stop. Im almost don't wanna get old cuz these kids are going to run the world one day and woe to us elders. Prayfully the Lord will come, crack the sky and I'll be caught up by then, lol.

jamal Abraham Sunday, January 10th 2010 at 5:55PM

Cassandra, Hello

You said....."Our people are in a state of disarray and altho white people may have started it in slavery, WE continue to carry it forward affecting generations of our kids and it got to stop. "

My parents would take me to the circus when a kid. I enjoyed watching the elephant stand on one foot at the crack of the white man's whip or the tiger jump thru a loop of fire. Then later found out that they were trained since puppies. Much like black Americans were trained to be haters of self since babies during slavery. I must shamefully admit that we do continue to carry this lack of accountability for each other.....But its a problem more with black male and black male moreso than Black women. The solution and a retraining of the Black male, though its tougher since we are grown now....but with unemployment rising among black men....Now perhaps brothers will listen to other brothers who have it together.

Cassandra Carter Sunday, January 10th 2010 at 7:37PM

I agree with you there. The most vital and key part of 're-training' is realizing that you need to be retrained. You have to be willing to admit you need a change and the way you were once doing things or are doing things now just isn't cutting it anymore. What I need the brother to see is that everything they do affects us sisters as well. the brothers gotta step up their 'A' game. They have to get their minds right cuz the mind tells the body what to do. Plus the mind is where concepts and ideas are conceive. If you can set up an illegal business and run it without a paper trail and still keep up with who owes you what, then certainly you can do the same with a legitimate business. Stop being afraid to try. I have more respect for a brother who tries and fails but keeps trying than I will ever have a brother who just sits on his hands and does nothing. The Bible says a lil folding of the hands brings poverty and its so true. We have to find ways to help empower our communities that we may employ them and help to teach them how to fish for lifetime instead of just being fed for a day.

I hear what ur saying but I also know and history has proved it that if enough people got together to ally against a thing, that thing can and will be over turned. I has been done b4 and people will keep attempting it because it works. Gay/lesbian marriages were never acceptable b4 but lookit them now. Not saying its right because to me its not yet it goes to show you what power lies in people beingon on accord. That isn't just for the saints you know, thats a principle that will be successful if implemented correctly. For every problem there is a solution but you will never find it by making the problem bigger than its solution. Lil wayne, kanye and others write those lyrics cuz of self hatred of themselves from deep within. That has nothing to do with amendments and everything to do with the bottom line and that is making money. instead of looking so much at them look at the sick idiots who buy their music and support such sick ideologies. We thrive and get off at look at people's disfuntionalities, which makes a person just as sick if not more than the ones they are looking at.

Change takes work and thats how you know that people really don't want change cuz they are not willing to push, sweat, bleed, die for it. Where is the Spirit of the Civil Rights Movement? Where are the die hard we-aint -gonna-take-this-ish-no-mo? Where are the by-any-means-necessary people? As of right now theyare all dead, gone and mad as hell cuz WE let the torch with the fire in it drop into muddy waters.

Jewell Fox Thursday, January 14th 2010 at 4:35PM

I hear you too, but if they weren't given the freedom to sing those lyrics people won't be buying them and kids would not be growing up listing to such negativity that leads them into destruction. So what I am saying is that because of the 'Freedom' that was given to them from the Amendments they are now abusing it and no one can stop them, why? because they have rights. Let's take China or Cuba, that **** cannot take place there. Not that I like dictatorship but there is sensorship which I like, because with sensorship comes respect. And this current teenage/young generation truly does not like themselves we all know that. That's because society has made them feel that you have to be perfect to make it in this world. Look at how many young people, black or white are killing themselves with prescription drugs etc. just to make it perfect. I have heard of teenagers getting plastic surgery and the list goes on. So that Spirit of the Civil Rights Movement and by-any-means are long gone and are no where to be seen because today with this generation it's all about outward beauty, self accomplishment and whatever it takes to get them to the top regardless of who they knock down on their way up. Sad but true! Great piece though. And Jamal I'm looking forward to a new topic, we seem to love the debates. Take care guys!
