Marriage is a choice just like being single is a choice. People have a right to decide whether to jump the broom or not to jump the broom. I've always wanted to be married though from the time I was a little girl from reading all those fairy tales that preps all little girl's minds for our knights on white horses. For a while I felt being single was good until I became tired of doing the single thing. I fasted and prayed asking God to send me a good family oriented man to marry me and he did. I love married life, but for those who want to remain single... I say you go girls!!

Many Black women don't know what marriage is REALLY about, particularly as far as the word of GOD goes. Most black women need to sincerely pray and ask GOD what is His purpose and plan for them. You know if it is a desire of your heart to be in a traditional marriage ( male and female). You have to be developed as an individual, and take care of yourself, your needs emotionally and mentally have to be confronted and dealt with. There is help out there for you if have mental health of emotional issues. If you are not bringing anything positive to the relationship table, DO THE WORK needed to be about something real and not superficial. Make your own money and have your OWN and don't depend on a man to validate you through money or material things( remember the Chaka Khan song, STOP ON BY)! First and foremost, get a Life in Christ. Get focused spiritually, love the Lord, serve HIM...He is the BEST husband and the bible says he will be your HUSBANDMAN, even after you ARE married.
God bless you today, my Sista!
