Come back to prayer
My eyes fill with tears when I think about the 14.3 million Americans who are not working. In this group are single mothers who are trying to raise their children and faced with the question how will I do this? 12.3 million children in America are going to bed hungry losing weight because of a lack of food. While the numbers are even higher among Afican Americans we continue to feel the answer lies in people and things. History shows us whenever great crisis arose in the African American race we prayed however today we are not praying. We have allowed many distractions to come into our lives and continue to place our hope in people and things.
Where is prayer in your life today? Where is prayer in the lives of your children young and old? How much time do you spend in prayer?
This nation was founded on prayer and certainly our race held onto prayer to see it through many trials and tribulations. If we are going to turn things around we must pray and pray without ceasing. We must openly talk about prayer and openly pray putting prayer back into mainstream America. God has turned His back on us because we have turned our back on Him wake up my people pray. How bad will it have to get before you cry out to God?

Yes, prayer is so needed on a continuous basis, but faith without works is dead. We must be actively praying. We are definetly in troublesome times, but may I humbly say, Praise God for He has not turned His back on us. He will not contradict His word "..I will never leave you nor forsake you.." We as a nation need to demonstrate the love of Jesus by pulling together and sharing our resources. I have to say, "my eyes as well as my heart fills with great sorrow when I think of the reality of God actually turning His back on His people." This may be how it feels, but is this scripturally sound? We, the children of the Most High God are to "walk by faith and not by sight. In this world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world(KJV)." Heaven is not in a recession and neither are God's people, we just need to follow God's road map and come together.
