Roberta I think this question is a smoking gun... Dora has a point. Besides, what is the real percentage of people that really marry for love these days? As Sister Dora indicated people marry for different reasons. I would like to add to the list... people marry because they want to have s*x, they don't want to be alone, they want someone that makes them look good ---the trophy wife, etc...
Honest to goodness, when I met my husband I didn't know him very well and I was counting on the information that I was being given by a mutual friend who knew the both of us. Of course, after courting one another (long distance via phone, internet, and trips back and forth from SC to NY which he paid for) for a year and a half… we decided to get married. It’s been good so far…
Was I in love with him? I really can't say, but I can tell you that my affection grew for him as I scrutinized him. He had lots of potential and things that I could appreciate. He appeared honest and willing to let me meet his family and friends. Most importantly, I saw him as a good provider and a hard worker which equates to me--- I wasn't going to have to take care of him. (((Lol)))
