Im 25 and i am deaf, only in one ear. i fell im loseing in the other for as long as i've known ive been this way was about 6 years old when it was notice and thats because i answered the phone defferently. nothing done until about age nine, when i was addopted only tests were taking no hearing aid no pain relief nothing. i just seen what the inside of the damaged ear look like, a black hole where the other ear has a working eardrum, doing this all on my own i plan to figure out what i can do to keep the hearing i do have. with cost and a family i cant afford it . ive applied ssi but siill nothing. am seeing a therypist for this because it has caused a lot of depression and other things.

Olivia,
I advise you to go see your medical doctor if you have one or go to your local health clinic to have your hearing evaluated. In doing so, you will be referred for tests and a specialist who can tell you what the cause of your hearing loss and recommend treatment. Please seek treatment asap.
