Myspace, Facebook, Blackplanet, etc. How has these sites worked for you?

I am a member of all those sites, nice pictures up and all, intelligent content and really no connections with anyone where there is mutual interest that establishes offline. I have run into some nonsensical jerks whether they be male or female or those who do catch our interest pretend to be busy even when interest like its some power struggle. Anyway, I just feel like I am on all these sites hoping to meet new people and still in this long drought but by choice because if some people arent my type then I cant deal with them regardless of the lonliness and even deep down and slight desperation to connect and be heard.
