My Quest for Balance
In essence, management is control. To manage means to take control of, to handle, to administrate, to steer. We as busy women must make time for the most important and have time for the not so important. We also must know when to say no and when to say yes. Let me point out, not based on other people's thoughts and needs but our own.
I speak from total life experience when I say this. My life was geared towards "scurrying" to please whoever screamed the loudest. It's the Grace of God why I did not end up in a straight jacket living this way. I felt selfish if I delegated tasks or asked for help. I felt selfish if I had to let something fall between the cracks. Ladies, this is a horrible feeling that so many of us know too well. And don't let me have to say "No." to someone. Oh, it was the worst! All along I had a smile and an "I'm okay." going on but a terrible stench of unhappiness was seeping through.
I was unhappy because I was not grabbing my life by the horns. This bull was doing me like those crazy men that run with bulls in Spain. Keep reading. http://apps.anotheru-manageurlife.com/Blog...
John Maxwell had an excellent blog on delegating yesterday on his website, http://johnmaxwellonleadership.com/ . As women, don't we find it threatening to delegate? Seems as though we are losing power when we give some of our "too many" tasks to another. I could be the woman that feels that way. Nahhhh! I know I'm not. But, really if we keep sitting on our little islands of "I don't need nobody. I'm strong. I can do it myself." we will whither away under the heat of the sun. Prayer and meditation are vital to our focus, strenth, and peace but God gave us other people to physically help us succeed. Whether it's your family member, best friend, or new found networking friend, we are puzzle pieces that fit together for one magnificant picture! So.....delegate.
