New to town and would like to meet some quality women
I am headed to Atlanta in late April in search of my dream career in communications. Currently I am searching for places to live. I want to live with a roommate at first so there is someone I can hit the town with for a little while until I get used to getting around the city. Uprooting myself from the Midwest (Kansas to be exact) is a little overwhelming, but I am soo excited to get into "civilization." Things I ususally have to travel an hour for will be right around the corner. I am most excited about the opportunities for young, black professionals in Atlanta. Plus... I just love the south.
Several of my friends (who are much less traveled than I) say that I am brave for leaving home and coming to a large city without a whole lot of things hammered down before I leave. I feel like I have no choice, I felt confined and held back in Kansas. Like most professional black women, I have seen about every face of discrimination that there is and though I don't expect things to be terribly different, I just would feel more comfortable if I had friends that I can share frusterations and issues with.
I am excited to move on with my life. If anyone else out there feels what I am saying... hit me back.
