Chris should be able to redeem himself. He is still very young and has many more good years ahead of him hopefully.
To see the photo of Rihanna's abuse, and I share this not to make a spectacle, but to actually show how serious the offense is, you can check out this site, as it was shown to me:

Some may believe Chris' career isn't over, but news reports state the following:
Why Has Chris Brown Lost Deals and Radio Play So Soon After Arrest?
February 12, 2009 03:01 PM
by Rachel Balik
Arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend Rihanna, Chris Brown has been dropped from the radio and endorsements without being officially charged.
There are no official reports or charges, but after singer Chris Brown was arrested for allegedly hitting his girlfriend Rihanna, companies, television programs and even radio stations are rushing to dissociate themselves from the successful singer. He has lost a sponsorship deal with Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company (makers of Doublemint gum), his songs are being pulled from radio stations, he will no longer make a scheduled appearance at the NBA All-Star game and MTV.com reports that even “Sesame Street” has vowed to stop airing the 2007 show on which he appeared.

When you hear of some rappers being accused of such heinous crimes, it doesn't seem to affect their record sales so much because that type of behavior is expected from them based on the life they portray, even within their music, but for someone so young, such as Chris and Rihanna, who sings love songs, R&B, I think it's hard to take or accept. As I hear that he was himself a victim of abuse, as he revealed on the Tyra show, and he supposedly has had cases of abuse with other women prior to Rihanna, I just pray he gets the help or anger management he needs, to get back on top, if indeed he has fallen off, completely.
It's hard to say at this point. We'll all have to wait and see what happens, the court date is right around the corner. March 5th I believe. He shouldn't have been dropped from those deals without being convicted.
I understand what you are saying, about being convicted, or losing contracts without being proven guilty, it's fair and just, but on the other hand, I understand radio stations and Wrigley's cutting him off so to speak, before a conviction, because they could lose their fan base or business if they don't, so they rather be safe than sorry... but Rihanna made a report, she could drop the charges I suppose, but I don't think the public would find him any less guilty... people speak of him like the new Ike Turner now, it's hard to get back your reputation once you've lost it... look at O.J. and Michael Jackson, who moved out of the country... People hold celebrities accountable for their actions now-a-days... no one is above the law... no one receives special treatment because of their celebrity status, once they deviate from being lawful citizens... and quite frankly, I'm glad about it... it's fair...
as a young entertainer, I think he will be able to bounce back . I don't think his career is over . Yes... He has lost some major endorsements but I think he will be alright i the long run.
no ike turner career was not over so chris brown is still young but he have to redeem himself by doing public service announcement and working with batter women and by seeing a thepist

Was this the first time he has done something like this or is he an abuser? I think if this is the first time, he needs to be given a chance to get some help. He is so young and talented that, if he makes the effort, his career will be fine.
Rumor has it, that it wasn't the first time Chris abused a woman, that he abused his former girlfriend as well. How true it is, or from what source the person who told me got it from, is anyone's guess. The whole abuse issue, is another testament or reason as to why 70% of black women may be single. How many women in general regardless of race, after being physically, or even emotionally or verbally abused, have trust issues when going into another relationship or are even open to dating again? It takes time to heal no doubt. My book, entitled "Food for the Soul", outlines several reasons and theories as to why 70% of black women are supposedly single, and examines the prevalence of domestic violence and rape amongst African-American women. For example:
"African American women experience significantly more domestic violence than white women in the age group of 20-24..."
And even more striking, "The number one killer of African American women ages 15 to 34 is homocide at the hands of a current or former intimate partner."
