I am opposed to same s*x marrianges, but I do think they should be able to get some benefits and become heirs of their partners things, if that's what they want. If they do that though, heteros*xual common law couples will look to be able to get those same benefits.
Honestly, I'm not opposed to it, for so many reasons. If the whole purpose of marriage is to bring two people close to God, to be more God -like, why not... As far as children are concerned, given the number of single parent households, I look upon it as a blessing, especially as more same s*x couples adopt. The thing that aggravates me most, is the fact same s*x couples aren't given the same rights... When I was in the military they had a "don't ask, don't tell" policy when it came to one's s*xuality. Given all the family affairs and family oriented events they had in the service, sure they could bring their partner, but would have to introduce them as a friend, and even more, if a couple had children together, they couldn' get the same healthcare benefits for their children, even if they were legally married. I do think of it as an equal rights issue. Same s*x couples should be able to get the same tax write offs and so forth. And this notion may be far reaching, and homos*xuality and lesbianism may seem like a psychological disorder to some, and not everyone desires to be partnered since there exists a group known as As*xuals who have no desire for s*x whatsoever, and still marry, but there are far more women in the world then men, and while polygomy is lawful in certain regions of the world, I think it's a blessing if you find someone, regardless of their s*x, that you'd want to spend a lifetime with... For everything (and everyone) that God has made is good...
I speak on lesbianism and homos*xuality in my book entitled "Food for the Soul", available at Barnes & Noble, www.authorhouse.com and www.amazon.com, which is yet another reason why 70% of black women may be single... However, statistics reveal "71% of lesbians polled across the country were in committed monogomous relationships." (National Association of Women, 1997).
I am for all unions of love. It has no face and we should not judge what is special between to people.
I don;t oppose same s*x marriages. It really doesn't affect me . I feel that if two people are the same s*x are in a relationship and wanted to be married, they should be able to.
same s*x marriages stops reproduction.
