A Woman Colorless
A Woman Colorless
Faith love devotion escapes me
Who have I been devoted to?
Who have I loved? Who loves me?
What have I been faithful too?
Springs come forth but nothing capture me
My values where are their origins
Powerful inspiring thoughts lost in transition
My thoughts only preserved in my mind
Ethnicity handed down to me not by choice
Fables inspire my thoughts I act
Fantasy overpower reality no sense at all
Throughout ages lies adopted as truth
Where are the promises of truth past comments?
Where is the preservation of life fulfillment?
When will the fable become fact?
When will fantasy become non-fiction?
The origins of my land polluted with fabrication
When will my race my color not matter anymore?
When will everyone who’s anyone see me as colorless?
Not a race or a statistic
I’m a person I’m a woman
A guardian that carries life to this place
Look at me. Not at my skin color. I’m colorless.
I’m human living in blended bloods
French, Indian, African America and White
It’s still me
Devoted to springs of life
Life springs me colorless
Capture my spirit take me whole
Where is faith, love, appreciation, devotion?
Not in my color. Not in my race
Inside me where you can’t see, so
I’m colorless
Capture my faith
My love, My devotion, My motivation
Then you will capture me but I will still be colorless
