Judge Mathis is best known for his syndicated reality tv show. Mathis was once a trouble youth and learned later in life that an education could help him out of his humble beginnings. Mathis over came many obstacles to become a lawyer and judge. Many people in his profession were trying to block him from taking the law exam in his state.
Mathis's past has defined his present. Mathis is also known as an activist while he is not doing his tv show. Mathis attended the 2008 Congressional Black Caucus Conference and took part in a panel discussion. Some of the panel members were Jesse Jackson and Micheal Eric Dyson , therefore this was a loaded panel.
Mathis got real emotional while on the panel to get his point across about prison, black males and jobs. If you look at the video, you will see Mathis go off.

Mike thanks for this post. I had to yawn through the first part with the man giving shout outs to his wife and mother (LoL), but I endured to the end. Judge Mathis was right on point and I even took some notes. I particularly like the analogy about the 50 yard advantage and what he said that he doesn't want to be a superhero or was that a supernegro. He was up front and real. I love Judge Mathis.
