Change is a wonderful thing. I consider myself a Change Agent. As a Life Coach it is my duty to assist and teach clients to embrace change. Change reminds me of a song called, Wake Up Everybody. Remember? It is that old school Harold Melvin & Blue Notes classic. You know the lyrics sing along with me:
Wake up everybody no more sleeping in bed.
No more backward thinking time for thinking ahead.
The world has changed so very much from what it us to be.
Oh my gosh!!! Did you hear that? The first thing we must do to become a change agent is to wake up and stop dreaming about the past. At some point we must put wings to those dreams. Listen to what Paul said about change, "Brethren I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before."
Wow... Remember, the past is in the tomb; tomorrow is in your womb. Oh that's good stuff.... I love what Gandhi said, "You can not change people, you must be the change you want to see in people," I ask you, what changes you need to make in your life? Do you need to change jobs or careers? Maybe you need to change friends. Remember, if you are the smartest one in the group it is time to get a new group. Do you need to change your location or destination? We put so much emphasis on the people, but it has been proven that you must be in the right place at the right time to meet the right people. Oh, that's good stuff.
Maybe you must simply need to change your attitude. Until the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change, a person will never change. Is your current situation painful enough for you to commit to change? There were two contributing factors that caused most of my pain when I lived in poverty. One factor was directly caused the pain of working in poverty. The pain of working in poverty for someone else was the other source of my great anguish. It was the classic double-whammy. The pain of those circumstances caused me to make some decisions that literally changed my life. It goes back to the chorus of the song. Come sing along with me.

Whoop there it is. Please don't miss this. Listen! Your world will not get better if you just let it be. Repeat after me. "If it's going to be it's up to me."
You do not need other people's permission to change your life. I would like to share with you a verse of scripture that helped me to wake up and embrace change. "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and the perfect will of God."

Now down to business you and both are members of BLACK WOMEN CONNECT so all that we say can be viewed as we are talking for men, and I refuse to talk for such a diverse group or spirits and souls. You mention change, but can you agree that change is not a process that will not EMCOMPASS one's entire being? I can change my hair and car, but if i still do triflin things aint i still triflin? As an example does ANYONE here thing or believe Monica Lewinsky was the first "intern" President Clinton had "relations" with? He was probably doing that form his college days... So change is relative to your surroundings. Mere words is not going to promote change, so as a life coach who does this for a living what are you prepared to "donate" to help someone change? Undoubtedly there's someone on one of the Connect Platforms that needs your help... So are you and the other business owners using this as a means of self promotion willing to put up or...
Just a question... oh by the way... in my profession I've deployed in defense of this nation and stand ready to do it again... Its time for action not words... Oh what do I tell the single mother of twins that is having a hard time potting training her 2 year olds, got no money for gas, has 10 days to her next payday, and ihas one more time to be late to work before she's written up? your it's up to me really isn't going to help her, and I doubt it's going to help the female here that's sneaking onto BWC while her abusive mate is away...

Well ALL RIGHT NOW !!! Finally somebody's got it !! Put up or ..... You can't survive on bread alone. But in the WORD, is wisdom and understanding to continue your survival. Know where the ORIGINAL WORD came from and WHO. We are some of the poorest, neediest people in the world ( church folks), With all of us together and with all the struggles we don't even have a tooth pick factory ! Thank you Brother Gulley for putting it out there. It's definately TIME for Action . We do need to WAKE UP, and realize that we've been LIED to. IN A BIG WAY. A VERY BIG WAY !!!!! Wait, Am I missing something here? Life isn't easy neither, nobody said it was going to be.The first step that these people that you are talking about Vanest,are going to have to want the support. You can not help those that don't want it. They /we have all the numbers. They have got to WANT the help, and in order to do that, THEY HAVE GOT TO WANT To CHANGE themselves and their situation! The support and help follows. ( I commend your efforts, and myself would help anyone in a heartbeat). But....... They have got to look at their bloody faces and their kid's tear- stained faces, and reality has got to hit them in such a way, that they say enough is enough, I"VE GOT TO CHANGE I NEED HELP, and seek it. It's there, somewhere! Other than that you can not help them. Only be there for them when they seek the help they need. We need to be there for them. However,this is not what we are saying here. The differences stated are: # 1, change your mindset to improve your life and world around you. And #2 , change things by giving what you have to offer, don't always seek self gain. The people you're referring to Vanest,obviously need to relate to change #1. Both changes ,therefore need action.
