THE LADDER

There stood the ladder a ladder to freedom,
do I take the first step or do I stay and endure
what I have come accustom to, slavery.

Who will take care of me who will protect
me? Do I take the first step or do I stay and
endure what’s behind me.

I have taken the first step my heart beats
rapidly, I am one step closer to freedom.

I don’t know, should I take the next step
to freedom or do I stay in the bondage
of slavery.

I have taken that second step LORD I
think I am feeling faint, I am that
much closer to freedom.

Do I take this third step the #3
the Trinity.

LORD, hold me up my knees are about to
give way. I know you are with me
I am that much closer to freedom.

They are below this ladder to freedom
chanting come down, Nige\r, waiting
for it to tilt over. LORD, give me the
strength to take this next step.

I have taken the last step what a Victory.
I am standing on solid ground, looking
down.

LORD, I still have my sanity, I AM
FREE!
