My coach Mr. Herbert Harris holds me accountable to this timeless and powerful truth: "Your life is a garden and you are the gardener." That is bananas!!! What gets me so excited about this is that it aligns with Proverbs 23:7 "For as he thinketh in his heart so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee: but his heart is not with thee."
I believe your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your character and your character becomes your destiny. Simply put, we can control our destiny by being the master of our thoughts. Let that marinate in your mind for a minute. Yes you read it correctly; it is not a typo.
"You are the master of your fate; you are the captain of your soul. Listen to what James Allen says about the power of your thinking: “The aphorism ‘As a man thinketh in his heart so is he,’ not only embraces the whole of man's being, but is so comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and circumstances of his life. A man's life is the complete sum of his thoughts.” Wow, I love that.
Remember that you are the gardener. You cannot only plant new thoughts and ideas in the garden of your mind, but you have the authority to uproot bad thoughts or ideas. Henry David Thoreau once said, "Thought is the sculptor who can create the person you want to be."
Let me conclude by referring you to another mentor. The Apostle Paul said, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report: if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
