My book signing at the Chicago Black Womens Expo
Oh my goodness I cannot tell you how successful my book signing was last weekend at the Chicago Black Womens Expo! I met with so many incredible people. Who knew I had such a following? I just want to thank so many people for their out pour of support! We shared so many inspirational stories and it was truly a love fest!! I don't know when the last time I hugged so many people and wiped away so many tears. You felt that I was an inspiration to you, but you were an inspiration to me as well and I thank you. I was so surprised to learn the story behind my novel Xceptance really touched so many of you. Remember you are not alone, you are beautiful and are loved. Keep believing in "yourself" and first and foremost love who you are as well!
I met with the Chicago Channel 7 news team Bill Campbell and Karen Jordan. They each have copies of Give Me the Strength and I hope they will enjoy the book as so many others. I met with one of Chicago's very own Ms Dorothy Tillman who was just as beautiful in person as she is on television and she invited me to come on her show in September and speak about my books as well. God is so good...
I introduced the dolls from my Kuckabug Collection and raffled them off and that was also a great success. I had to travel so far to get to McCormick Place in downtown Chicago, and with so many other events going on in the area traffic was a huge mess, but what amazed me even more was the people that were standing at my booth awaiting my arrival!! There were so many other vendors to see and yet they waited for me. I only had time to put my purse down on the floor and the rest of my time was spent grabbing books and signing them!!! I couldn't even take an uninterrupted potty break because people recognized me and were talking to me from the "bathroom stahl!" Who would ever have thought! I am truly humbled by my experience and I thank the heavens above.
I am unable to load all of the pic's to our site here, so go to http://blog.denatyson.com to view the pictures from the event. I hope you all enjoy
Warmest regards,
