HOW TO TAKE NAMI-MARYLAND'S ACTION ALERT TO PROTECT MENTAL HEALTH BUDGET FUNDING, NOTE-CARD WRITING... (118 hits)
For Immediate Release From NAMI-Maryland!
Budget hearings are underway in Maryland, and key decisions are being made right now that will impact access to mental health care across our state.
NAMI Maryland is urging lawmakers to protect and strengthen critical behavioral health investments that Maryland families depend on.
Why your voice matters: These budget decisions will shape whether thousands of Marylanders—especially children, youth, and families—can access the mental health care they need. Without action now, critical programs and services could be weakened or lost.
Take Action Today
Contact your Senator or Delegate and urge them to:
Restore full Consortium funding
Protect and expand CCBHCs
Support a 3% provider rate increase
Together, we can ensure that every Marylander has access to the mental health care they deserve.
WHY: To try and meet everyone's schedules, bringing together advocates, community members, and stakeholders to connect directly with Maryland legislators. This event is a chance to both express gratitude and advance change.
During this event, participants will:
Thank legislators for their continued leadership and support of mental health initiatives in Maryland;
Advocate for NAMI Maryland’s priority legislation, helping ensure individuals and families affected by mental health conditions receive the support and care they deserve; and
Share personal stories and messages that highlight the real impact of policy decisions in our communities.
No advocacy experience is necessary—just your voice and your passion. NAMI Maryland will provide talking points, materials, and guidance to help you craft meaningful messages.
Whether you’re a longtime advocate or new to policy engagement, your participation makes a difference. Personal messages from constituents are one of the most powerful ways to influence decision-makers and shape a stronger mental health system in Maryland.
Together, we can build a future where mental health is prioritized, respected, and accessible for all.
