WHAT: "Celebrating Student Voices"
WHEN: Tuesday, January 25, 2022
TIME: 12 PM EST / 9 AM PST.
During this event, you will hear from recent #BecauseWeWill award recipients and learn how organizations like NAF are making a difference in the lives of students and getting them #FutureReady. Students will speak about their personal experiences, the role supportive services play in college retention, and how nonprofit organizations can better support non-traditional students engaged in earning while learning.
Meet the Speakers: Masammad J., Mindy K., Pascalyn O., Keisha Taylor, and Michelle Cooper
#BecauseWeWill is an interactive social media campaign designed to empower the sharing of personal stories with the goal of building community, support, and belonging with other learners across the country. Students may submit a short video or written story to be considered to receive an unrestricted $1,000 cash award to support their personal education goals. Winners are announced monthly.
If you are a learner and would like to submit a story, you can learn more on the #BecauseWeWill website. If you work with learners who have stories to share, invite them to submit an entry for our next award cycle. The next deadline for submissions is February 4th!
