I used Amazon to publish my eBook. I found a great resource, which made the process so much easier to understand. The book is called (Self-Publishing the Easy Way) by Valentine King. This book aided me so much; when it came to formats, headers, etc. Another resource used was (The Creative Penn Blog) by Joann Penn. Now my book is still not perfect, even with numerous editors going over it. Once I published it, I noticed mistakes that we all had missed. Therefore, when I hear someone speak on perfect writing. I laugh; because there is no such thing. Even our so-called classics have mistakes within them. I will make more corrections to my first book. But those will be done at a later date, now I plan to get myself established. So if you plan to self-publish; make sure that your book is not only ready but also have your information ready. I did not think about business regarding being a writer, but hey that’s what it is. You will need to choose that information on Amazon, and anywhere else you decided to self-publish. The government will need it for tax purposes. So you need to decide if you are an LLC, sole proprietor, etc.. this is information is very important. Also for your books decide on who will own your ISBN numbers. After doing some research, I realized that for me. I want my ISBN numbers listed under my name ( I want my name listed as publisher). ISBN have to be on every form of your book. I believe I am saying that right? For each format of your book, you will need a different ISBN (ebook, print, audio). One ISBN will cost $125, ten for $295, do not quote me on those numbers. But it's cheaper to purchase more than one. I saved up for six months to buy ten ISBN’s because I knew that I planned to write more than one book, and each book will be digital and print.
Note: Amazon is not the only digital format we can use to publish. After my promotional period with Amazon, I do plan to join Kobo and Allromance.
Next week, I will talk about print books and using CreateSpace to publish.
