It’s a sad day in bikini news. It looks like Victoria’s Secret has plans to stop selling swimsuits. The brand’s s*xy bathing suits were celebrated just as much as its bras, so the news definitely comes in as a surprise. The racy silhouettes also had their own television special on CBS for the last two years.
Earlier this month L Brands, the company that owns Victoria’s Secret announced that they would cut “certain merchandise categories.” Les Wexner, the head of L Brands explained that the business is, “making these changes to accelerate our growth and to strengthen the business for the long term by narrowing our focus and simplifying our operating model.” The swimsuits aren’t the only thing getting the axe. Victoria’s Secret’s world-famous catalogs will soon become a thing of the past as well. According to Buzzfeed, the company will focus on Victoria’s Secret Lingerie, Victoria’s Secret Beauty, and VS Pink. They will also continue expanding the activewear line VS Sport.
