Jelisa Barringer is the 47th National Miss Black America Titleholder. She Joined the Ranks of Oprah Winfrey, Toni Braxton, Bernadette Stanis, Alexandra Morton and more.
Jelisa is a 25 year old native of Columbus, OH crowned Miss Black America 2015-16. She has a Communications Degree from Central State University. With many interests, Jelisa loves to perform, which includes singing and acting. She left the Judges and the pageant audience in awe with her rendition of Summertime during the Talent Competition. Jelisa also won Miss Black America Best In Swimsuit!
Her platform is "Big Sisterly Love" she chose this to bring awareness about mentoring opportunities for our youth. Jelisa feels it is important to have many positive outlets which are accessible for young women to engage with positive role models.
