What happens when much of the leadership of these great three monotheistic religions are also experiencing great turmoil in their own marriages and are also currently facing and falling victim to the horrific tragedy of divorce? Divorce affects all those involved for the rest of their lives in ways that we can hardly imagine. It is fair to say that no one ever emerges from a divorce unscathed or unaffected and it often makes the onlookers choose a side in the conflict. Which side should we choose whenever someone we know gets divorced? What effect does seeing other couples getting divorced have on those couples who may already be standing on the verge of divorce? Doesn't it tend to push them over the edge too? Is divorce among the couples causing a chain reaction in your religious house? How many couples and family / community members holding their marriage together just because they are carefully watching you and your spouse continue fighting for your marriage?
